At home with Ragna, Pere and Onna
La Vila is not a campsite with a reception desk, but the home and training ground of a family of top runners. Ragna Debats became Trail Running World Champion in 2018 and in 2019 was the first Dutch athlete to win the Marathon des Sables. Together with Pere Aurell she travelled the world for the documentary series Rolling Mountains, with their daughter Onna along for the ride.
Back in La Garrotxa they built La Vila: a place where you sleep in the landscape where they train every day, and where you simply join them at the table in the evening.
Pere Aurell: Catalan mountain champion
Alongside Ragna, La Vila is also home to Pere Aurell: a trail and skyrunner from Matadepera who has spent years among the world's best on the most technical mountain terrain. In 2018 he won the Sky Extra ranking of the Skyrunner World Series, including victory in the brutal Transvulcania on La Palma. In 2020 he became the first international runner to win the notorious 100-kilometre SkyRun in South Africa, and in 2026 he was crowned Spanish ultra champion (FEDME) at the Desafío Calar del Río Mundo. Train here and you literally follow in the footsteps of two world-class runners — and can simply ask them for advice over dinner.

La Vila sits on the Camí de Cogolls in Les Planes d'Hostoles, in the La Garrotxa region of Catalonia. The nearest airports are Barcelona and Girona; from there you drive towards Olot/Les Planes d'Hostoles.
Are children welcome?
Absolutely. La Vila is a family home, and daughter Onna is growing up here. The safari tents sleep 2 to 4 people, so families fit right in.
What is included in the price?
The 1-night experience (€65 p.p.) and the Weekend in nature (€125 p.p., 2 nights) include breakfast. For the weekend you can add a homemade dinner for €20 p.p. Active holidays and training camps are tailor-made.
